Should you buy the P300 6 TB?
As a second drive in a PC, or a backup you plug in once a week, it does what you need.
Watch out for
It isn't a NAS drive, and Toshiba gives it no NAS bay rating. Building an array? Get a NAS or data-centre line, which comes with the rating. And the recording's SMR, another reason it stays out of arrays.
No Backblaze failure rate for this one. They don't run enough of them, if any, for a figure worth quoting. Toshiba lists 2.68 W at idle and 4.46 W working, which comes to 23 kWh a year for a drive that idles around the clock.
