Should you buy the P300 4 TB?

As a second drive in a PC, or a backup you plug in once a week, it does what you need.

Watch out for

No NAS rating from Toshiba. For an array, pick a NAS line instead. And the recording's SMR, another reason it stays out of arrays.

Backblaze doesn't run enough of these for a failure rate we'd publish. Toshiba lists 2.32 W at idle and 4.11 W working, which comes to 20 kWh a year for a drive that idles around the clock.
