Is the P300 2 TB right for you?
As a second drive in a PC, or a backup you plug in once a week, it does what you need.
Watch out for
Toshiba doesn't rate it for NAS use at all, which rules it out for an array as far as we're concerned. At 7,200 rpm it's from the louder, warmer class. Fine in a cupboard, less fun on a desk. And the recording's SMR, another reason it stays out of arrays.
No Backblaze failure rate for this one. They don't run enough of them, if any, for a figure worth quoting. Toshiba lists 2.92 W at idle and 5.21 W working, which comes to 26 kWh a year for a drive that idles around the clock.
