This is the one to look at once you're past eight bays or the array's busy all day, because WD rates it for 550 TB a year and doesn't care how big the box is. Five years of warranty is the other draw, and on a drive you'll leave spinning for most of a decade that's worth having. Recording is CMR, the right kind for RAID and ZFS.
!Watch out for
Being 7,200 rpm, it's in the noisier, warmer class of drive, and you'll want it somewhere you don't sit.
There's no Backblaze data worth quoting here. WD's datasheet puts it at 20 dB idle and 36 dB seeking. Power draw is 3.6 W idle and 6.1 W working on WD's figures, or 32 kWh a year if it spends the whole year idling. Four of them in SHR or RAID 5 give 54 TB usable, or 49.1 TB once Windows has done its binary maths on it.
