Quiet beats fast for most home boxes, and at 5,400 rpm it's in the quieter class while still keeping a 1GbE link busy. Recording is CMR, the right kind for RAID and ZFS.
!Watch out for
You get three years' cover and a 180 TB a year workload rating, both on the light side if the pool's busy every day.
There's no Backblaze data worth quoting here. On paper it makes 23 dB at idle and 27 dB seeking. Synology lists 3.96 W at idle and 4.85 W working, which comes to 35 kWh a year for a drive that idles around the clock. Four of them in SHR or RAID 5 give 12 TB usable, or 10.9 TB once Windows has done its binary maths on it.
