Is the WD Red Plus 10 TB right for you? For a 2- to 8-bay box that lives in a cupboard it's a good fit, and 7,200 rpm gives it a bit more pace than the slower NAS drives. It's CMR, which is what you want anywhere near a RAID or ZFS rebuild.
! Watch out for Bigger box than that? Look at a pro or data-centre line instead. You get three years' cover and a 180 TB a year workload rating, both on the light side if the pool's busy every day.
Backblaze doesn't run enough of these for a failure rate we'd publish. On paper it makes 34 dB at idle and 39 dB seeking. WD lists 6.1 W at idle and 8.8 W working, which comes to 53 kWh a year for a drive that idles around the clock. Put four in RAID 5 and you'll have 30 TB to fill (Windows will call it 27.3 TB).
