It's at home in a rack or a garage, where 7,200 rpm of spinning rust can whirr away all day without bothering anyone. Toshiba backs it for five years, which is a long time in drive terms. It's CMR, which is what you want anywhere near a RAID or ZFS rebuild.
!Watch out for
At 7,200 rpm it's from the louder, warmer class. Fine in a cupboard, less fun on a desk.
There's no Backblaze data worth quoting here. On paper it makes 20 dB at idle and 32 dB seeking. Toshiba lists 4.35 W at idle and 8.38 W working, which comes to 38 kWh a year for a drive that idles around the clock. Four of them in SHR or RAID 5 give 60 TB usable, or 54.6 TB once Windows has done its binary maths on it.
