Should you buy the ICY BOX IB-127CL-U3?
It's the simplest way to read a bare drive over USB, and handy for the backup drive that spends most of its life in a drawer. It'll clone one drive to another without a computer attached, handy when you're replacing a disk.
Power comes from an external adapter, it's rated for drives up to 18 TB, and UASP support trims the USB overhead.
